Why are the college expeditions cancelled?
In order to take necessary precaution and minimize additional exposure to the novel coronavirus to our students and mentors, their families and our broader community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all College Expeditions for Spring 2020.
What are the visiting schools’ policies regarding campus visits at this time?
Due to the growing concern over the novel coronavirus, many universities have issued statements disallowing groups and those outside of their communities from visiting their campuses. Most universities have proactively cancelled previously-scheduled student tours, including tours arranged by College Expedition USA.
Payments and Refunds
What will happen with the payments we have already submitted?
Participant and mentor fees will be fully refunded. If you have submitted a check, it has not yet been cashed and will be shredded. If you have submitted a money order, it will be mailed back to the address listed in your application.
What do we do about the flights that we have already purchased?
Our understanding is that airlines are waiving fees for changes or cancellations to existing reservations. We suggest that you contact your airline or other transportation company to understand their policies
Will there be another cycle with the same expeditions?
We will continue to monitor the conditions around the novel coronavirus outbreaks, and also follow updates from universities across the country to track changes in policies and restrictions. Due to the current uncertainty, we are unable to determine the details of the next cycle of expeditions at this time.
WILL I HAVE THE FIRST PRIORITY TO ATTEND THE NEXT CYCLE OF EXPEDITIONS?
We will take into consideration acceptances from the Spring 2020 cycle to the best of our capacity.
This would have been my last chance to attend CE. What do you suggest that I do to prepare for the college application process?
Although our College Expeditions cannot take place in person, we plan on staying engaged with our students during this time to support them in their academic journey. In the meantime, please stay connected with us via social media, email and our College Expodition podcasts. Additionally, we highly recommend our Apollo 12 virtual college admissions advising for current 11th grade students. Eligible students can register here.
